Wall decoration, set of three
Butterflies or snowflakes?
Fljúga hvítu fiðrildin
fyrir utan glugga;
þarna siglir einhver inn
ofurlítil dugga.
Most Icelanders know this old nursery rhyme by Sveinbjörn Egilsson. It tells of summer and white butterflies fluttering in front of a window, and of a small boat coming safely to shore. But some say it alludes to winter and gentle snowfall, and a single snowflake drifting in through an open window.
When you place the butterfly on the wall choose a spot whit where the lights hits it - creating a beautiful dreamlike reflection and shadow for the butterfly to come alive.
